English Teacher - Secondary

Skt. Josef’s International School, Roskilde, is currently seeking an experienced and qualified English teacher.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher who is hardworking and excited to join our school.

Responsibilities will primarily be teaching Cambridge English First Language and English Literature to classes from Year 7 – Year 11. This includes preparing students for IGCSE exams.

The ideal candidate for this position would be a qualified teacher with a minimum of three years’ experience teaching secondary English in an international setting and/or extensive knowledge of the Cambridge Curriculum and IGCSE exams.

As a teacher, you should be able to demonstrate:

·An innovative and creative approach to providing an outstanding education
·The ability to inspire, challenge, support and empower students and colleagues towards excellence
·Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish good working relationships across the school community 
·Advanced Level English speaker with excellent presentation skills
·Excellent knowledge in teaching Cambridge IGCSE English language and literature
·The ability to respond positively and proactively to the challenges of the school environment
·Being able to monitor, assess, record and report on pupil's progress
·An interest in developing the character, values and 21st century skills of our students as well as the academics
·Experience in international schools, and/or Cambridge International Curriculum would be an advantage
·Familiarity with IT platforms such as MS Teams
·Be energetic and prepared to go the extra mile in shaping the school’s future

Step 2: If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to teach a sample lesson to demonstrate how you plan and organise your lessons, and observe your pedagogical approach.

Step 3: If your sample lesson is of a high standard, you will be invited to a formal interview.

Sample lessons and interviews will take place from Week 18.
